Emergency Call Boxes: Emergency phones marked with a bright blue light are located in parking lots and high traffic areas on all ASU campuses. Instructions on how to use Call Boxes are on the boxes or, for more information, see the ASU Police Manual.
Emergency NotificationIn case of a campus-wide emergency, students, faculty and staff will be notified by university email and by phone using the Maricopa County Community Emergency Notification System (CENS). For more information on how this system works, see the CENS Frequently Asked Questions web site.

Students, Staff, and Faculty – Be prepared
Emergency Response Guide (ERG) provided by Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is the guide to prepare you for most emergencies at ASU; familiarize yourself with this guide before an emergency.
Campus Safety and Compliance Hot Line 877.SUN.DEVL or 877.786.3385 is to be used if you have concerns about student or employee safety or non-compliance with laws, regulations, or policies. This hot line is NOT designed to report emergency conditions.

Safety Tips for Students and Safety Resources for Faculty and Staff are provided by ASU’s Department of Student Affairs.
Safety Tips are also provided by the ASU Police Department.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Are You Ready offers a “What can I do at home?” guide for citizen preparedness; information for individual, family, and community preparedness for all types of emergencies.
Getting support
Tempe Campus, Polytechnic Campus, West Campus, and Downtown Phoenix Campus provide counseling services for Students.
Employee Assistance Office provides counseling for ASU employees.
Training
Safety classes are provided by EH&S to prepare for emergency situations.

Radiation Safety and Laser Safety Training
Emergency Evacuation Plan Template is provided by EH&S to help the campus community in developing building-specific and/or department-specific emergency preparedness plans.
Emergency Evacuation Compliance Guidelines give the requirements for what needs to be in the written emergency evacuation plan for each facility on campus.
Classroom Procedures Guidelines contain emergency procedures that should be reviewed during the first class meeting.
Response
ASU Police Department is a major responder to all ASU emergencies. In an emergency situation, EH&S and ASU Police work together to manage emergency situations that arise on ASU Campuses.
Chemical, radioactive, biological, and fire safety programs are provided by EH&S. Except for certain radiation emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and fire investigations, EH&S has no legal enforcement authority at campus emergencies.
Campus Crime Statistics Report is provided yearly by the ASU Police Department.
Crime Alerts and ASU Police Logs are provided by the ASU Police Department.

Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC) is to assure that the ASU Police Department remains responsive to the needs of the campuses and local communities.
Campus Environment Team (CET) is advisory to the president to promote campus-wide appreciation of diversity and respect for all individuals, while also protecting free speech and academic freedom.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a Federal Emergency Management Agency initiative that educates citizens to become citizen-responders following a disaster.
Arizona Emergency Operations Center (EOC) offers general safety preparedness information for the entire state of Arizona.
Homeland Security Department offers current national threat levels and links to national resources.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is the federal agency charged with building and supporting the nation’s emergency management system.
FEMA Higher Education Project encourages and supports the dissemination of hazard, disaster, and emergency management information at colleges and universities.
